Michael has been competing on two wheels since 1994 when he switched from recreational mountain biking to NORBA competitions in Washington and Idaho. After a short time on the dirt Michael found the speed and tactics of road riding and racing. He began road racing a short time later in Austin, TX. He progressed through the USCF ranks and is currently a category 2, racing in Utah.
Michael is a USCF certified coach and currently leads the number 1 ranked juniors team in Utah. He also coaches several adult athletes in Utah and around the country.
Michael grew up on the Colorado slopes racing between the gates as part of the Winter Park Ski Team. He also enjoyed several years of competitive swimming during high school. During college and grad school, Michael found a love for cycling and shortly after began bike racing.
This year, with several top-ten finishes in the pro/1/2 category, Michael is having a great season. He continues to sharpen his racing ability, learn training technique, and build a strong race resume. The years of experience combined with the most current training technique come together and benefit both personal racing and the ever growing list of results from coached athletes.
Greg has been a competitive cyclist since 1989. Now, after a 3 year hiatus, Greg is back on the plan, aggressively trying to upgrade to USA Cycling Category 2 and then Category 1. He is a Norba Expert Class mountain bike racer as well.
He also is a USA Cycling Expert Level Licensed Coach. He has been personally training by power for two years now and has been watching the power-based training literature for much longer. He has also attended the USA Cycling Power Based Training Seminar.
Greg grew up racing in South Texas. After moving to Dallas, TX for college and grad school, he started racing more regionally in Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and beyond. He has raced in some of the biggest races in the country, including: The Tour of the Gila, Killington Stage Race, The Leadville Trail 100 — doing many of them more than once.
This year, in addition to chasing the required points for his Category 2 upgrade, Greg will be targeting Masters National Time Trial, LoToJa and finally, to finish off the season, the 24 Hours of Moab — solo.
